Borrowed is a small series made from found and found and sometimes purchased family vacation slides. As I gather these discarded memories I often imagine that perhaps they could be my own, transfering my lived experience into them as I begin the process of converting the slides into Polaroids, only to remove and mount the lifted emulsion on to small pieces of watercolor paper. During the transformation the images are often torn and folded both by accident and intent - just as someone's account of an experience may be worn by time or even distorted by choice.
